21 November 2025: Semis exports from China in the first ten months of 2025 surged by 156.6% year-on-year, to 11.9 million tonnes (Mt), but in October softened by 4.4% on the year, to 1.2 Mt. Tighter tax regulations in China drove prices up during the summer period and stemmed buying activity in some markets.

6 November 2025: Rising prices in China since end-June and higher demand for Turkish finished steel products encouraged producers to increase scrap imports in September by 17.7% year-on-year, to 1.7 Mt, while semi-finished deliveries fell for the first time in the past year.

23 October 2025: Suppliers of finished and semi-finished steel from China continued expanding their presence in the international markets due to competitive pricing. In September, their overseas shipments gained 3.07% and 41.76%, compared to the same month in 2024, reaching 10.5 million tonnes (Mt) and 1.5 Mt, respectively.

2 October 2025: In August, Turkish suppliers increased finished steel shipments to overseas markets by 5.6%, to 1.37 million tonnes (Mt).

5 September 2025: Türkiye's finished steel imports in July jumped by 42.45% compared to the same month in 2024, to 1.2 Million tonnes (Mt), driving year-to-date deliveries to 11.6Mt, up by 9.61%.

4 July 2025: In May, Türkiye increased exports of steel products, while domestic crude steel output declined by 2.8% year-over-year (y-o-y) to 3.1 million tonnes (Mt). Overall shipments of finished steel products rose by 16% over this period, to 1.5 Mt.

5 June 2025: Global exporters of finished steel products continued to pursue international sales due to insufficient domestic demand.

22 May 2025: EU demand for finished steel products from Turkey, Ukraine, China and Indonesia increased sharply in March 2025 compared to the same month last year, but deliveries from other major suppliers plummeted, resulting in a 4.4% decline in total import volumes, to 1.96 million tonnes (Mt).

24 April 2025: In February 2025, European finished steel imports from overseas markets declined by 15.6% year-on-year, to 1.7 million tonnes (Mt), reflecting a high level of uncertainty prevailing in the market ahead of tighter trade measures and slow activity in the end-use sectors.
