Turkey's finished steel exports gain 17.8% in October

4 December 2025: Turkey’s exports of finished steel products climbed 17.8% year on year in October, reaching 1.2 million tonnes (Mt), supported by robust demand from Europe and the United States. Year-to-date shipments to overseas markets rose by 10.4%, to 13.9 Mt.

Belgium, Romania, and Serbia remained key buyers in October, importing 76 thousand tonnes (kt), 74 kt and 46 kt, respectively, following heavy restocking in September, likely driven by uncertainty over the upcoming CBAM regulations. The United States also showed strong interest in Turkish rebar and tubes, with total finished steel imports amounting to 66 kt. The US Department of Commerce determined the final results of the anti-dumping (AD) duty administrative review on rebar from Turkey earlier this year.

Meanwhile, deliveries of finished steel products into Turkey jumped by 10.9% over the same period, to 888 kt, though volumes slipped slightly compared with September. Demand was higher mainly for flat products sourced from South Korea, Russia, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Over the first ten months, Turkish buyers increased deliveries by 10%, to 9.5 Mt.

At the same time, Turkish customers reduced their purchases of semi-finished products for October deliveries, as Asian prices strengthened during the summer period, while scrap costs remained less volatile. Semis imports totalled 649 kt, down 32.6%, but in January-October increased by 17.1%, to 6.9 Mt.
